Dental prophylaxis is a set of actions helping to prevent dental caries and teeth loss.

Dentists at our clinic conduct full diagnostic of dentition, advise proper and safe treatments and perform professional cleaning procedures, such as:

• ultrasonic dental and subgingival calculus removal
• sand-blast cleaning (plaque and exterior stains removal)
• we teach correct teeth cleaning techniques (brushing, flossing, use of irrigators, etc.)

Next stage of correct prophylaxis are regular control visits, which in early phases allow to detect various damages or abnormalities in dentition. Early indentified dental caries are usually easily treated, and what is more important, they require less preparation, which is always a type of intrusion in tooth tissues.

Also, patients having any sort of prosthesis (e.g. bridge, acrylic prosthesis), and especially those having prosthesis on implants, should conduct control visits on a regular basis. This is important because slow physiological changes, such as abrasion of natural and artificial teeth in prostheses, can lead to the so called "occlusion overload" that can cause gradual loosening and in extreme cases loss of teeth.
